We are ASE certified. If you own an imported vehicle, it pays to bring it to the experts who understand your car.

Alignment

Wheel alignment is part of standard automobile maintenance and consists of adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are set to the car maker's specification. The purpose of these adjustments is to reduce tire wear, and to ensure that vehicle travel is straight and true (without "pulling" to one side). We use state of the art equipment to measure and adjust your vehicle as needed.

Batteries

A car battery's main function is to be a reservoir of electrical energy for starting the car and operating devices when the engine is not running. The battery is constantly being discharged every time you start the car and recharged by the alternator as you drive. These actions take their toll on the life of the battery. We use the latest technology for battery testing and will provide the highest quality replacement battery if necessary.

Brakes

Your brakes are the most important safety system on your car. They also are the most frequently used and therefore need the most service. The braking system on your vehicle has been meticulously engineered to provide longevity and excellent performance. We use only the highest quality OE brake parts to keep your vehicle’s brake system operating as it is designed to.

Driveline

Getting the power from the engine and transmission to the ground where it matters is the job of the driveline. The axles, CV joints, differentials, hubs and bearings all need to work in harmony for your vehicle to go down the road smoothly. We often see vehicles that have been serviced with low quality parts resulting in noise or vibration complaints. We can give you options on how to get your system back to the manufacturer's specified operating condition.

Electrical System

Today's vehicles have extremely complex electronic systems with dozens of computers and multiple networks on board. All of which work together to create a seamless experience for you and your passengers. A malfunctioning electrical system is one of the most difficult and demanding tasks any technician faces. Our experienced technicians can diagnose and repair any electrical problem in your vehicle.

Electric & Hybrid Vehicles

All manufacturers are pushing their lineups toward electric and hybrid driveline types. We are trained and equipped to service all of these advanced systems.

Engine

The modern vehicle engine is more complex than ever before with forced induction, variable valve timing and lift systems, high pressure injection systems, a multitude of emissions controls, and fully electronic control systems it can be difficult to understand let alone diagnose and repair. We offer comprehensive expertise in all of these engine systems and in mechanical engine repair if necessary.

Exhaust

Exhaust systems on new automobiles are far more complex and expensive than you may remember, but they can last the life of the vehicle if serviced properly. We can examine your exhaust system and recommend realistic, high quality repairs.

Heating & A/C

No heat from your dash vents? Does the air conditioner blow warm air? We can fix this too. We are equipped to handle all vehicle HVAC concerns. From advanced 4 zone automatic climate control to the latest R1234ya refrigerant systems we’ve got you covered in any season.

Pre-Pruchase Inspections

When buying a used vehicle (whether it's from a private party or a car dealer), your first question should always be "Is there anything wrong with it?" We offer a complete "before you buy" vehicle inspection. This is money well spent in protecting yourself from buying another person's problem car. Let the professionals at SMW give you a piece of mind or prevent a costly mistake.

Scheduled Maintenance

When it comes to keeping your car in top-notch condition, the key is keeping up on the scheduled maintenance. Each vehicle has its own specifications when it comes to engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, etc. We are sticklers for using the specified fluids and filters for each model and the results we get are the justification. We have dozens of customers with vehicles well north of 150k that are running like new.

Suspension

Suspension is the term given to the system of springs, shock absorbers and linkages that connects a vehicle to its wheels. Suspension systems contribute to handling and braking while also keeping you reasonably well isolated from road noise, bumps and vibrations. Modern vehicles have precise suspension that must be serviced in a precise manner. We can keep your vehicle feeling like new using only the highest quality OE parts to repair the suspension system on your vehicle.

Steering

Steering and suspension are often grouped together as they are so heavily intertwined. We can thoroughly check your steering system for mechanical issues. We are well versed in all modern electric assist and hydraulic power steering systems. Including programming and calibration of the latest electronic stability control systems.

Tires

Snow, ice, dirt, interstate and performance - we can recommend the right tire for your every need. We sell all the major brands of tires such as Michelin, Nokian, Hankook, Uniroyal, Vredestein, Continental, Pirelli, Dunlop and many others. We have the proper equipment to mount your new tires including low profile and run flat models. We can also keep your tire pressure monitoring systems properly.

Transmission

The transmission is one of the most complex and expensive components in your vehicle. Most modern transmissions have specific servicing procedures that require special tools and fluid. We have the tools and electronic equipment needed to assess your transmission concern or warning light. Manual transmission issues like clutches, bearings, or shifting linkage are also easily taken care of by our technicians.

State Inspection

SMW is an official Vermont State Inspection. All of your safety and emission systems are thoroughly checked and tested. Inspection fee is $85. Vermont safety inspections are due once a year for each vehicle.
